Letter From Keith Rose 10515-509
To a person who I respect and admire.
You have been a role model for so many. I have always thought that. It is my own belief that when we go through rough and hard times that God will be with us no matter what. My wife has a little plate in a curio cabinet in the living room of our home, its called Footprints. Summed up a person is walking on the sandy beach very troubled and looks down and sees only one set of footsteps in the sand and wonders why God left him alone in his time of need. God then reveals that he did not abandon him that he was there all the time all the time. The footprints he saw were Gods footprints as he carried that person when they felt they could go on. Well Mark, you have left footprints in life my friend. I think God knew that in this kind of place he had to have a strong good worker and I believe he picked the best. I would like to say it is an honor and privilege to have met you and much bigger than that, I feel it a blessing to call you a friend. So if you ever wonder if you helped anyone along the way just know that an ol' Alabama country boy sure does appreciate you and what you stand for. Words are cheap, someday soon you will see how what you're doing here is told to the whole country.
I will make sure of that when I leave.
Thank you my friend. By the way, the Painter is right. Keep those legs covered, lol. People have to read the book to get the meaning.

I remember Keith well. We were together at FCI Hazelton. I remember when he first showed up there and like all those new to the prison system he was out of place.
I remember that he was well liked and soon found his way, his path there. Yes, he read my book and clowned me about some of the humor in it.
Keith. I wish you well. Remember, do the right thing.
Peace be with you. Mayor Mark
